Deedra Jackson

Senior Program Specialist | Funding Team

Born and raised in San Francisco, Deedra grew up in the Oceanview, Merced, and Ingleside (OMI) Districts and attended private Catholic schools where she excelled in academics, sports, and fine arts. Upon high school graduation, she continued her faith-based private education by attending and graduating from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Fine Arts. Shortly after graduation and prior to beginning a career with the City & County of San Francisco, Deedra did a brief stint as a flight attendant for a major airline company, traveling to destinations across the US and some international locations. For 25+ years, Deedra has devoted her work to the children, youth, families, and communities of San Francisco. Working at DCYF created a passion for community service and supporting the development of equitable, quality programs for youth.

When not working, Deedra spends time just being “mom” to her two beautiful daughters, enjoys retail therapy, traveling, and is a sports fanatic, particularly the local teams—Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers.
