Arts and Creative Expression
The Arts and Creative Expression Strategy is designed to provide elementary, middle and high school youth and disconnected TAY with opportunities to explore one or more forms of artistic and creative expression. Arts and Creative Expression programs provide project based activities that allow participants to learn skills and express their creativity while engaging in an artistic discipline.
DCYF allocated $4,758,000 in annual funding to 33 programs across 32 agencies for the Arts and Creative Expression Strategy.
Strategy Goals include:
To increase developmentally appropriate 1 opportunities for youth to express themselves.
To increase exposure to varying forms of artistic expression (e.g. visual arts, creative writing, music, theater, film, digital media, etc.).
To allow youth to explore artistic activities as outlets for social and emotional learning and growth.
