2018-2019 Request for Proposals

Community Grants

Each year at the beginning of the new fiscal year the SF Board of Supervisors releases a list of budget amendments commonly known as "addbacks." These are funds that each Supervisor allocates to various City departments for programs in their respective districts. The allocation of these funds varies by district: some Supervisors assign the funds at their own discretion while others choose where to allocate funds through Participatory Budgeting, a public process in which constituents age 16 and older develop, propose, and vote on one-time services or projects.

DCYF conducts an open and transparent RFP process for the budget amendments that we receive through the addback and Participatory Budgeting processes called the Community Grants RFP. Similar competitive processes are utilized throughout the City for the allocation of public funds.

Any qualified agency is welcome to submit proposals for the Community Grants RFP - there is no requirement to be a current DCYF grantee. The Community Grants RFP document below includes a list of all of the available grants and all other pertinent information about the RFP.

DCYF would like to thank every agency that put in the time and effort to apply for the 2018-2019 Community Grants Request for Proposals. If you would like stay in the loop with our work and be notified of future funding opportunities, please subscribe to the DCYF newsletter at this link.
