Program Description:
The mission of Brothers Against Guns is to prevent youth violence and incarceration through education, intervention, recreation, and comprhensive support services that inspire youth to engage in positive activites and behaviors. CARC-acts an alternative to incarceration for youth 12-17 arrested for a variety of criminal offences, IHBS-provides concentrated case management to youth identified by the juvenile courts as high risk to re-offend, School site mentoring-helps to decrease truancy, suspension and dropout rates, Teen Center provides youth with a safe place to socialize with direct adult supervison and support, and Youth development and Leadership provides youth with culturally relevant opportunities to explore their curcumstances and begin to heal. BAG provides service for youth ages 9-19 that have been identified as "at risk", however all youth are eligible to participate in our program. We are located at 8 West Point in the Bayview Hunters Point.
